The Boat Parade

Clay and I flew down to California to see the boat parade in New Port Beach with Spencer's family. Of course the day we wanted to go it was raining but fortunately it wasn't the next day. Only Cherie and I were able to go on Thursday though. There were some pretty amazing boats with loads of lights and some other boats with only one strand of lights, it was pretty sad to see, I mean its a parade to show off your countless lights not your 50 count lights. come on boat people. It was pretty neat but probably no worth the flight down. It was fun spending time with the family before we drove to Las Vegas to met everyone else, that was definitely worth the flight.
Sorry, the picture of Cherie and I is blurry, that was like the third picture the lady tried to take, she couldn't figure out how to focus the camera even though I told here how. Oh well!

A Candle Light Christmas

On Monday we went to Heritage Park for the Candle Light Christmas activity. Some of my family came and we had a lot of fun. Of course we picked one of the coldest nights to go, it was probably 10 or 15 degrees.
The park had a lot of things to do and look at. They had crafts for the kids to do including making an ornament. There was a live nativity with a live camel even. Santa was there and the kids wrote him a letter and had a picture with him. We learned a dance at the school house and rode a train up and down the park to see the decorative lights.
There were other things to do but we stayed 15 minutes too long, the kids were having a break down on the train ride back, that was our sign to leave. Even though it was really cold we still had a great time. hopefully this will become a tradition in our family.

Such beautiful houses

Spencer's family came up from California for Thanksgiving and we had so much fun having them stay with us. The girls cooked a wonderfully delicious Thanksgiving dinner while the men watched football. We went shopping on black Friday, went to the Pie, made gingerbread houses with the girls. Cherie, Melinda and I went to see Twilight which was fun. I thought it was pretty good, I can't wait for the next one. On Sunday we went to see the lights at Temple Square, they are so pretty this year. We wished they could stay longer but duty calls with work, school and other responsibilities. Can't wait to see everyone for Christmas.
