~~~~~
This Christmas was so fun with lots of activities, eating and family. We went to my parents for Christmas Eve and my Dad and brother Scott arranged a hay ride. The kids loved it. We drove around the ward and sang carols to a couple of house and gave out gifts. It was a lot of fun.
Once we came back for that, we put dinner on the table. My parents have had a tradition of having a candle light dinner with soup bowls, ham, twice baked potatoes and dessert. Afterwards we have all the grandkids dress up in the parts of the nativity and they act it out while some one reads the story from the bible. Than of course we exchange presents.
Its always a fun filled night centered around our Savior.
~~~~~
Christmas morning came and I was worried that it would be over in 10 minutes. Oh No! It literally took us all day to open presents. Clay would open one and want to play with it, than it took a lot of effort to even open up the next one. We finally made it through all the presents and he loves every one of them. I basically haven't see him for 3 days because he is in his room playing.
I'm sad to see the Holiday over, but so glad to get things back to normal and slow down for a few days.
Hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas

Tait Adventures

Clay and I love to baking cookie together. I won this bakers hat for best presentation at my families annual pie contest. He liked wearing it while we baked.
We went to the mall and they had a train ride that took you through the whole mall. Clay had a blast.

One of Clay's favorite snacks is apples and caramel. He gets it all over him, the counter and the chair. But he is cute while eating them.

And here I am at 30 weeks. I'm still doing well minus the tiredness at the end of the day. This little girl is a mover and a shaker. Spencer says that Clay wasn't as nearly as active as she is. She keeps me up at night and wakes me in the early morning. I sure hope this won't be a pattern when she is born. We can't wait to welcome her in our family.

Thanksgiving Fun

Our Thanksgiving table.

Our traditional gingerbread house making.

A trip to the Dinosaur Museum, What a cute family, huh?

Standing around a fossil

Playing in the water and sand play area.

And finally the pregnant lady holding her adorable 2 year old.
~~~~
Tyler, Melinda, Rylin, Jordyn and Paytin came up for a week during Thanksgiving. We enjoyed having them and spending time with them. It was Melinda and I's first time cooking a turkey by ourselves, usually Cherie does it, so we were a little nervous about it. We found a brining recipe that we decided to try and it turned out great. It was so juicy and flavorful. I would recommend brining your turkeys next year, you won't regret it. I tried to make our Thanksgiving dinner special since it was the first time with out Mike and Cherie, Spencer and Melinda's parents, they are on a mission to Fiji. So I tried to make the dinner table elegant and made the meal a big deal. I was happy with the out come. Of course Thanksgiving day wouldn't be fulfilled with out our traditional gingerbread making with the kids. The frosting that came in the box was horrible and didn't dry for the walls to stick together. The kids had fun though.
We made a trip to the dinosaur museum and had a lot of fun there. Poor Spencer wasn't able to get work off for the first 3 days they were here, so he missed out on some fun activities. With all the shopping, cooking, visiting and eating, it was a great Holiday.
Pumkin Patch Fun
The is a nursery down the street from us that has some really fun activities for little ones. We went one early evening and a blast. We saw some farm animals, played on the playground, wen through a light alley and walked through a pumpkin patch. The most fun we had was letting Clay walk...well run through the corn maze. He definitely got us lost. It was so fun watching him decide which way we should go. He did eventually get us to the finish line, thankfully. We probably could have stayed in there for hours and still have Clay running around not even tired.
Clay loved putting his face in these things
Oh great we'ree lost, where are we?
Clay loved playing the drums on the big pumpkins
Awesome Give Away!
So I saw this on a friends blog and thought it was the coolest bike. How fun would it be to ride this with your kids, that is if they sit buckled in. I think Clay would love it. I picked this picture because I could imagine Spencer riding this, not very punk rock but he would enjoy it with Clay.
See You in 18 Months
Some of you may know that my In-Laws are going to Fiji to serve a LDS mission for 18 months. A couple of weeks ago they came down to Provo to the MTC for training. Now the MTC isn't as strict with the couple missionaries as they are with the Elders, so they were able to stay with us for the weekends and were able to see them some evenings.
It was Mike's birthday this past weekend so we wanted to make him a birthday dinner. He wanted to grill up some hamburgers and have potato salad and a peach pie. We went to a park and Spencer grilled up the hamburgers and we had a fun time just talking and eating good food.
Opening their mission call back in May, I think.
Clay of course playing in the dirt at the park
Sorry the picture is at a weird angle.
Mike and Cherie's last night with us.
~~~~~
Some people may think "good riddance" when their In-Laws leave, but I love mine and are sad to see them go. It will be weird going to California and not see them there or have them come to visit us for a while, but the Lord needs them and Fiji is were they need to be.
I'm so glad that we were able to experience Mike and Cherie's time at the MTC. Even though we weren't with them the whole time, it was wonderful. They are such a huge part of our lives and we will miss them. Thank you Mike and Cherie for being great examples for our family by serving the Lord and others. Thank you for all the love and support you give us. Love you.

What Are We Having?

At 20 weeks along we had our ultra sound this last week and we are so excited to announce that we are having a GIRL!!

Everything looks good from her head to her toe, which is always a relief. I am so excited to start buying little girl clothes and decorating her room with cute girly things. I'm not going to lie, its way more fun to buy for a girl than a boy, maybe because I'm a girl. Doesn't mean that I love you less though, Clay. I might have to be given an allowance to keep me from getting out of control.

bUn iN tHe oVeN

Well come the end of February Clay will have a little sibling to play with. We are so thrilled about this news and to tell you the truth I can't believe I have held on this long to tell friends and family.
When we found out by the home pregnancy test, I didn't believe it at all. I didn't feel pregnant like I did with Clay, so I wen to the office and had them do one and sure enough it was positive. It took about a week after we found out I start to feel pregnant with major constant nausea and headaches. This was something new since I was never sick with Clay. Boy does it suck. Now being a few days shy of 10 weeks, I feel somewhat better. I can't wait for my energy and wellness to come back.
I had my first ultra sound today to check for dates and to check for twins. I am on schedule for February 24th and no twins. (Is it weird that I was a little disappointed). Anyways the baby looks great with its little heart beating so fast.
So theirs our BIG NEWS!!
I'll keep you posted on how things are going.

Webb Fun

This last weekend my family got together for some family fun. On Friday we had a BBQ at Brion's and Amie's home. They have a nice yard and a fire pit that we roasted marshmallows and sang some songs. The kids had a three legged race and some prizes for finishing.
On Saturday the guys went golfing than the girls went and got pedicures, afterwards we headed to Scott and Lacee's and had some water games and fun. They had a slip'n slide a couple of pools and my parents bought this rocket that shoots up from water pressure, it was the hit of the evening. We all had a great time.

Even the adults got into it. Jarom sliding into 2nd base. They were playing water kick ball.

Noodles Aren't So Bad Crunchy

Maybe I didn't feed my child enough today because all day he has been trying to eat the weirdest things. He brought me the oatmeal can and tried some oatmeal plain without being cooked, he didn't like it. A little later he got out some instant brown rice and started eating that, didn't like that too well either. Finally he opened up a box of lasagna noodles and pulled one out. We could hear crunching noises in the kitchen. Spencer asked him what he was doing and of course, Clay answered "Eating Food", in a tone like da dad. It was pretty funny. The rest of the day he held on to that noodle and very slowly was eating away at it, he even had to take in Target (I don't recall him having it on our way to the car, he probably left on a shelf somewhere). I wonder what people thought about that?
Well I guess he tried some raw food and decided that he likes those things cooked instead. Crazy Kid!

Trip To The Zoo

For each birthday we have for the girls we decided to go do something fun rather with the kids or without. It was my mom's birthday and Adrien's, so we decided to go to the zoo. We had a great time, unfortunately Amie was on her way and Lexie threw up a couple of times so they turned around and wasn't able to come. My mom was feeling sick also so we it was only half of us. We missed having them there.
I had no idea that the zoo had all their zebras and hippos died, plus their bears weren't there because they are redoing the exhibit. How sad is that?
We still had a great time seeing all the other animals though.

First ER Experience

The day started out so great. I was able to sleep in until 7:30, I cleaned my house a little, went to lunch with my wonderful sister-in-laws and motherand I was planning on making a couple of meals for our Delectable Dinners. I got home and started to make some rolls and while the dough was rising Spencer wanted to go look at some bikes for him to ride to work and get in shape. So we went out for an adventure, and it was just that. We went to the first store and no problems there, Clay was running around looking at the bikes, thank goodness the bikes are hooked in to a rake. He loves to turn the pedals around and around, that should have sent a red flag to me right there, but it didn't. We saw some great bikes, but we wanted to check out the prices at another store. We walked in and the same thing, Clay turning the pedals around and around. Spencer and I left him for a second to look at a bike and than we heard a whimper, than a full out scream. We ran over and saw that Clay had caught his finger between the chain and the crank and the only way to get it out was to turn the pedal backwards to get his finger out. As we released the finger it immediately started to bleed out like a siv. Spencer said we need to go to the ER, but I wanted to look at it first, so we asked for a bathroom to wash up and it just kept bleeding and bleeding I could see that there was tissue coming out of the cut, so yes we went to the ER, which we were down the street from Utah Valley Hospital. I felt bad leaving the store with blood trails all over, Spencer did clean up the bathroom though. We walked in the ER and I went up to the desk and was trying to tell her what happened, she was trying to ask my questions but with Clay screaming in my ear I couldn't hear anything. Spencer check him in and I was so pleased that they got us right in. Of course, Clay wouldn't let anyone touch him except me, so the nurse had a hard time getting his vitals. They took us back to get an X-ray to see if maybe he broke his finger, but fortunately he didn't. We were sitting in a triage room watching Toy Story, Clay had calmed down, except every time he looked at his finger he would start crying. The doctor came in to take a look. He cleaned it up and all you could see was tissue spewing out. He definitely needed stitches and he gave us two options on how we could handle Clay. One we could get three or four people in to hold him down while he stitches up, which would still be hard because you can still bend the finger while people are holding you down. Or they could give him a shot to put him out, than they could look at the wound better and do a better job sewing up and we wouldn't have a screaming child. Spencer and I looked at each other and finally said to put him under. They gave him a shot and he slowly relaxed and was still. They warned us that his eyes would still be open even though he would be "in another world". As they laid him down ever so gently I kept looking at him watching this helpless little boy and thinking how disturbing it was to see him like this. As I watched his eyes twitch and his mouth wide open, my stomach sank and my heart started pounding and I got emotional. Tears weld up in my eyes and I had to step away from him. I know it is so silly to get emotional just for 4 stitches, but I NEVER EVER want to see my child like that again. I can't imaging what it would be like to see your child go through dialysis or Chemotherapy. I composed myself and was fine after that. I watch the doctor try to put back together his finger and he did an excellent job, which was a difficult one, it wasn't just a straight line to sew. It took about 45 minutes after for the nurse to say that we could go. Over all I was glad we put him out for it because the cut was worse than the doctor had originally thought and he probably wouldn't have done as good of a job.
We made it through an eventful evening, after 3 1/2 hours in triage we were ready to go home and relax. Clay was a champ and did pretty well for a 2 year old. I hope he will think twice before turning the pedal on a bike again...who am I kidding though.

A Day in a Toddler's Life

When it is raining, or snowing in yesterday's case, its hard for a toddler to stay inside when he lives to be outside. So after a lengthy talk about why we can't go outside and after the tantrum, he finds things to keep him occupied. Here are a few pictures to tell the story.

First he opens the silverware drawer and pulls out all of the spoons and knives, never the forks, and lines them up ever so neatly.
Having plumbers disease after running around so much...and having his hand down the back side of the diaper.

Opening the "can closet"as Clay would call it. Pulling all the cans off the 2 shelves he can reach. There are many cans with out labels and all of them have major damage from falling on other cans.
Smiling for the camera after his nap.
Finding the net bag that has all types of balls in it. Than afterwards playing in the net. Finally after a warm relaxing, if you call splashing Mommy playing with toys relaxing, bath than laying by Daddy until he falls asleep in his arms.
