Since all of my brother's are going with their in-laws for Thanksgiving this year, my parents wanted to have our Thanksgiving dinner a week early. We had such a great time. Of course we had our annual pie contest. All the men, the girls can do it if they choose, make a pie from scratch and we all vote on the best presentation and best taste. The votes came in and Brion won both presentation and taste. But I have to say that after the contest we put what was left of the pies on the counter for people to pick at though out the evening and when it was time to leave MY pie was all gone and there were still some left of the others. What does THAT mean? Was is rigged? I guess we will never know...
The kids couldn't wait to jump in the huge pile of leaves that grandpa made. They had so much fun playing, of course some didn't as you can see in the sideshow below. We had gingerbread houses for the kids to make while the guys watched the BYU vs. Utah football game. What a great day!

sounds like a fun day. I am glad you guys all able to have a fun early Thanksgiving. I think you are right I bet your pie was the best. ha ha. Can't wait to see that baby in three days.
It looks like you guys had a blast! What a fun filled day. I love the idea of the pie contest. But then you know I love to cook. I would have to win though. I will be working on a pie recipe for you for next year. See you on Wednesday. Love ya. Cherie

That does sound suspicious doesn't it? All the pies were great except for poor, poor Nick (see my blog). You got one of my votes.
